Prime Minister, ICRC discuss humanitarian cooperation

Minister Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor met with visiting director of operations for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Dominik Stillhart.

The meeting discussed aspects of enhancing cooperation between Yemen and the ICRC in the humanitarian field and developing mechanisms for joint action to alleviate the repercussions of aggression war states and siege against the public health, water and environment sectors.

The meeting reviewing the growing role of the ICRC in providing medicine and surgical services for injured and wounded in front lines and cities, in addition to its humanitarian role in securing the exchange of prisoners and providing a private plane to transport wounded people abroad for treatment.

Meanwhile, the ICRC official briefed the prime minister that the ICRC has approved to double its budget for Yemen, in which Yemen would be the most country to benefit from ICRC humanitarian interventions.
The meeting attended by minister of health, Mohammed bin Hafiz, minister of water and environment, Nabil Al Wazeer, and secretary general of the capital’s local council, Ameen Jomaan.
The meeting took place on Saturday.
