SAUDI CUTS BONUSES, SALARIES AS A RESULT OF RISING MILITARY EXPENDITURES IN YEMEN

 

Saudi Arabia has announced a series of decreases in its public bonuses and salaries of ministers on Monday

“This step in  order to cope with financial catastrophe like slumping rising military expenditures and to some extent oil prices “, economic analyst told Marsad Nwes.

“The cabinet has decided to stop and cancel some bonuses and financial benefits,” The state-run Ekhbariya TV on Monday mentioned that.

A later report on the channel broadcast a royal decree which outlined more details of the slashes, including a cut to ministers’ salaries by 20 percent and to that members of the appointed Shoura Council by 15 percent.

Saudi Arabia, once known for its lavish public spending and oil wealth, has been launched a costly military operation against Yemen.

It is noteworthy that ,Saudi Arabia has spent billions of dollars to buy weapons from its Western allies as it continues with its air campaign against Yemenis.
