Al-Houthi: We Object the Repetition of Currency Printing

The head of the Supreme Revolutionary Committee, Mohamed Ali al-Houthi, reoffered Tuesday, to the United Nations envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffith, to bring revenues of the central bank to the Yemeni capital of Sana’a in return for a pledge to pay salaries of employees and stronger the Yemeni currency.

“We object the repeated printing of the local currency and past experiences with the Saudi-UAE mercenaries,” Houthi said.

He considered the repetition of currency printing is an attempt to kill the Yemeni economy by Saudi mercenaries, giving the full responsibility to Saudi Arabia and America along with their alliance for destroying the currency and the stop of salaries.

The President of the Supreme Revolutionary committee that the Saudi-led coalition is killing the Yemeni people economically and militarlly and by various means, pointing out that the destruction of the currency does not include specific people, but includes all of the Yemenis.

It is worth mentioning that a local source in Aden confirmed earlier that about 38 barges transferred and imported to the port of Aden a new printed abroad currency estimated to be 648 billion riyals that fall within the category of small currency.
