The air force of the Yemeni army and the Popular Committees carried out a large-scale operation on Saturday using offensive drones against the King Khalid airbase in Khamis Mushait in the Asir Saudi province.
The spokesman of the Armed Forces Brigadier General Yahya Saree said in a brief statement that the air force carried out a large-scale aerial attack on King Khalid Air Base in Khamis Mushait.
Brigadier General Saree said the large-scale air attack was carried out with a number of Qassef 2k combat drones against warplanes hangars and takeoff and landing runways.
“The attack on King Khalid Air Base achieved its goal accurately thanks to Allah,” Saree stated.
The spokesman of the armed forces added: “this targeting comes in response to the crimes of aggression and the continued siege on the great people of Yemen.”
It is worth mentioning that air monitoring centers showed the return of a plane that was about to land at Abha Airport near the King Khalid Air Base to its take-off destination from Jeddah International Airport.
Moreover, the centers pointed out that an Egyptian Airlines flight carried out several circles before leaving the airspace of Abha city in conjunction with the attack on King Khalid Air Base.
On Thursday, the Air Force carried out two attacks with a number of 2k combat drones, targeting vital targets at King Khalid Air Base in Khamis Mushait. The first operation targeted the military communications system while the other targeted tanks and gas station at the base and the hits were accurate and direct.
