Secretary-General of the capital’s local council, Ameen Juma’an, discussed on Sunday with the UN Resident Coordinator / Humanitarian Coordinator for Yemen, Jamie McGoldrick, the humanitarian situation in the capital Sana’a.
The meeting touched upon the difficulties and problems facing the capital in various fields, especially in the relief and humanitarian aspect, the health and water sectors in light of the continuing Saudi American aggression, the unjust siege imposed on the country and the influx of displaced people to the capital.
Juma’an hailed the humanitarian role of the UN organizations at the level of ten districts in the capital, calling for providing further support, especially in the current difficult conditions.
McGoldrick commended the local authority’s cooperation in facilitating the UN organizations’ relief work in the capital, confirming the UN’s readiness to provide more support in some important sectors during the upcoming period.
